Dinner Delicioso: Burger Me

Last night Matt and I enjoyed a fanastic dinner!
We had burgers dressed up with:
roasted garlic and champagne mustard,
baby greens,
herbed goat cheese,
fresh tomato,
roasted red peppers,
and balsalmic carmalized onions.

And as the accompaniment we enjoyed Asparagus ribbon salad with:
more yummy goat cheese,
cherry tomatoes,
and a dijon mustard and lemon dressing.

Looking forward to having these burgers again in the future!

What's your favorite burger topping?

Spring in my Step

I love to buy some fresh flowers from the store when I go out and run my errands. I just think they make your home so bright and cheery. So I celebrated the first day of fall and my endless summer with a mixed bouquet and placed it in a spot in my home where it can be enjoyed from the kitchen, living room, and dining room.

More Garden Bounty

More beautifulness from my backyard. Can't wait till we can someday have a yard that is all ours. Container gardening just isn't the same.

Dahlia

Some of you may know that the flowers that graced our wedding were a variety of dahlias. They were so beautiful! Needless to say, dahlias are not really the kind of flowers they grow in Hawaii. But I saw them in the nursery department of our local home depot and so I thought I'd try to give growing some dahlias in a pot a try. I didn't have my hopes up too much, but I quickly discovered that as long as I remember to water very well everyday dahlias will grow in Hawaii in a pot.

Mmmmmm Vegetables!

As I watch tv I have began to realize that vegetables have became villainized. When did this happen? According to all the commercials I see vegetables are only an unacceptable food for children and adults alike if they are hidden in other foods or completely covered in ranch dressing or processed cheese gunk. Does this bother anyone else besides me? Why do people think they hate scrumptious veggies? And is it worth eating the vegetables if they've been covered in hundreds of unnecessary calories and all that extra unneeded fat? I don't think so. And while I enjoy a delicious side dish of veggies cooked up with some less than healthy ingredients on occasion, I really enjoy them when they are fresh and simply prepared to allow their delicious and nutritious flavors to emerge. Tell me what your favorite vegetable is and how do you like to eat it?
